Anchorage Braces for More Snow

The National Weather Service said Anchorage residents could see significant snow – between 12 and 18 inches – cover the area beginning Monday morning. Between seven and 10 inches fell on Saturday.

“There is another and possibly larger event looming for the Anchorage bowl Monday through Tuesday,” forecasters said Sunday morning. “The overall dynamic pattern over Anchorage remains favorable for more snow when another disturbance moves into the area Monday. This system has more moisture and should begin the snowfall Monday morning and persist through the day Tuesday.”

“There is a good possibility this system will linger and keep some snow in the area into Wednesday. Estimating snowfall amounts this far in advance is difficult but this system looks capable of bringing 12 to 18 inches of snow.”
