An auction will be held next month for P P’s Douglas Inn, the Douglas business seized earlier this spring because the owner failed to pay federal taxes for much of the last 14 years.

The bar at 915 3rd Street, previously known as Louie’s, had been operated by Patrick Peterson of Douglas. But the IRS says he owes nearly $1 million going back to 1999.

The IRS seized the property and locked the doors sometime in May.

At least 40-percent of the bid value is due during the August 21st auction at the Dimond Court Building at 123 4th Street in Juneau. Remainder of the purchase price is due on September 10th.
