Man Allegedly Shipped Pot To Ketchikan

A 45-year-old Ketchikan man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having two-and-a-half pounds of marijuana shipped to Ketchikan.

Aron R. Shay has been charged with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, which is a felony. He was taken to Ketchikan Correctional Center and held overnight.

Shay was arraigned in Ketchikan District Court Wednesday, when Judge Kevin Miller appointed the public defender office to represent him, and set bail at $1,000. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for 1 p.m. Aug. 9th.

According to the Ketchikan Police Department, officials with Alaska Marine Lines helped with the investigation, along with the department’s drug dog, Booker.
