Anchorage man critically injured in motorcycle crash

A 67-year-old motorcycle driver was critically injured and flown to an Anchorage hospital after crashing Saturday morning near Talkeetna.

Alaska State Troopers say Jack David Vanveckhoven was not wearing helmet at about 8:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-turn corner at Mile 109.6 of the Parks Highway and left the roadway.

The motorcycle overturned and crashed.

Troopers say the motorcycle was a total loss.

A Life Med Helicopter flew Vanveckhoven to Providence Medical Center where he remained in critical condition Sunday morning.
