The legalization and public sale of marijuana is a trending topic these days but there is a less publicly discussed way that marijuana is already having an impact on our families and our community. Marijuana abuse is responsible for 70% of teen admissions to substance abuse treatment programs and is strongly correlated with many adolescent emotional and behavioral problems. Teens who smoke regularly, frequently experience problems with family relationships, academics, social functioning, and mood regulation and greatly increase their risk for having substance abuse and mental health problems as adults. Join host Prentiss Pemberton and Anchorage therapist Tad Sumner, LCSW as they discuss the challenges of teenage marijuana abuse.
