Shelly Wozniak

FM Program Director

Shelly Wozniak is an award-winning journalist and communications professional, and a broadcasting jack-of-all-trades.

Alaska Public Media listeners may remember Wozniak as the original host of the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) award-winning program AK. While at AKPM, Shelly also served as an audio engineer, producer of Talk of Alaska, and was a contributor and fill-in host of Alaska News Nightly. However, some in Fairbanks and Anchorage may know her better as “Michelle Chick” from her time at New Northwest Broadcasters where she served as operations manager for the Anchorage station cluster, program director of KWLF and KUWL, and a radio personality on KWLF, KUWL, KFAT, and KXLR.

After more than a decade in radio, Wozniak began a career in public relations and communications, most recently serving as the senior director of Corporate Communications for NANA Regional Corporation (NANA) where she was responsible for the company’s communication strategy and program implementation. Prior to her position at NANA, she served as the public relations manager for both NANA Development Corporation (NDC) and the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau (now Visit Anchorage).

Shelly is a mixed metabolic workout enthusiast and self-proclaimed theatre nerd who has produced, directed and acted in many local productions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Alaska Pacific University (APU) and is pursuing her MBA in Leadership at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).
