Jury Deliberates Bethel Murder Case
The fate of two men accused of torturing and beating a man to death now rests in the hands of a jury. Jeff Hout of Bethel and Harry Williams of Kwethluk are facing first degree murder charges at the Bethel Courthouse for the killing of 19 year old Benjamin Kaiser of Hooper Bay last October.

Search for Young Man Missing on Kuskokwim
A man has been missing since Saturday after his boat capsized on the Kuskokwim river near Napakaik. Walter Springer, age 25, is from Bethel. Arrested at the boat and charged with bootlegging and violating terms of release was Michael Treat, age 27, also of Bethel.

The price to build the proposed Donlin Gold Mine has shot up by billions of dollars. That’s according to one of the major developers. NovaGold Resources released a new construction estimate for the remote mine site that puts the figure at $7 billion.
Bethel Murder Trial Proceedings Off to a Rocky Start
One of the highest profile murder cases in Bethel history is headed to trial soon. Last October, 19-year-old Benjamin Kaiser of Hooper Bay was murdered in a Bethel shop in what seasoned officers called the most brutal killing they have investigated.
