Why I became a journalist:
A high school English teacher told me I should do something with my writing skills.
Why I got into public broadcasting:
While covering the Iditarod one year, I watched a radio reporter at work, recording the snores of exhausted mushers. Using sound to tell stories seemed intoxicating. I love listening to Terry Gross and Marketplace, among others.
How I ended up at APTI:
The creation of Hometown Alaska created an opportunity for me.
