More Federal Funds for Dental Care Headed to Alaska

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is getting a boost in funding for the Dental Health Aide Therapy or DHAT program. Some $2 million of a $3 million appropriation within the federal omnibus appropriations will go to support training more dental aid therapists for rural Alaska. Dr. Mary Williard is the program’s director. She says the appropriation is a first.
