The group included:

* Sebastian Schnuelle of Canada
* Veteran, Paul Gebhardt
* Multiple Iditarod winner, Lance Mackey
* Michael Williams, Jr., a Yupik Eskimo from Akiak
* Ray Redington, Jr., grandson of Iditarod co-founder Joe Redington, Sr.
* Hans Gatt of Canada
Aliy Zirkle was the first female musher to reach Rainy Pass.
Nicolas Petit, a native of France, was the first rookie to reach Rainy Pass.
