Gas Prices Continue to Rise

Len Anderson, KSKA – Anchorage

Last week Anchorage retail gasoline prices rose four and half cents.   Yesterday regular unleaded average $4.12 cents.   That’s 23 cents higher for regular than one month ago and up 73 cents from the same day last year.

The cost for diesel in Anchorage ranged from 4.23 to $4.49 a gallon.

Also according to the nation-wide price tracking group GasBuddy-dot-com, Fairbanks’ average price for regular yesterday was $4.13.  Juneau was $4.01 cents a gallon.

The national average was $3.80 a gallon, 94 cents higher than a year ago.

And, of course, prices are higher in Alaska’s bush communities.
