Shooting Suspect Apparently Committed Suicide

An autopsy reveals that the man involved with the Trooper shooting near Wasilla early on Saturday morning died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

An Alaska State Trooper report says that 22-year-old Nicholas Leo Frazier shot at Trooper Andrew Ballesteros with a handgun during a traffic stop. Ballesteros received superficial wounds to the head and face, but managed to return fire. Frazier then stole the patrol car and was later found dead in the car about a mile down the road. The autopsy showed that Frazier received two non-fatal gunshot wounds from the trooper. He had two other, fatal gunshot wounds that he received while in the patrol car and were self-inflicted.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details about the circumstances of the traffic stop or other events have been released.
